about Sierra Lione

The Republic of Sierra Leone is a country located on the Atlantic coast of the western African continent. It borders Guinea and Liberia. Sierra Leone is a relatively small country in Africa, with an area of 71,740 km2 and a population of approximately 6,296,803. Its tropical climate, with a diverse range of environments from savannah to rainforest, is characterized by high temperatures and humidity throughout the year. Freetown is the capital, seat of government, and largest city. Other major cities with populations exceeding 100,000 are Kenema, Koidu, and Makeni. Sierra Leone is home to Fourah Bay College, the oldest university in West Africa, founded in 1827, and Elizabeth II Docks, the world's third-largest natural harbor. This has led to its nickname, the "Athens of West Africa."

about Climate

Its tropical climate features two distinct seasons, ideal for agricultural production: the rainy season from May to November and the dry season from December to May. During the dry season, Saharan heat waves can also blow. The capital, Freetown, is located on the coast and borders Sierra Leone Harbor, the world's third-largest natural harbor.

about Economy
Sierra Leone has been a diamond exporter, relying on diamond mining since the discovery of diamonds in 1930. The Sierra Leone Special Enterprises Corporation held a monopoly on diamond exploration rights for 25 years, transferring the majority of profits to the government. However, a significant portion of the diamonds are also smuggled. The southwest region boasts the largest diamond reserves, and this has sparked civil wars in the past.
